Gimme Shelter would me in my list of top 5 Rock Songs of all time. Merry Clayton=FANTASTIC
For all the Gimme Shelter fans (I see it mentioned here several times) - I have an outtake I recorded from somewhere of Keith singing the song. No Merry in the background vocals, only Keith on the entire song, but if anything it sounds even more sinister then the Mick version.
Would this be it? Can't say that I've heard it before. The instrumental tracks seem about the same as the final release.
That's it thanks. I have it on my MP3 player along with the original. The instrumental track on this, I think, is the same but mixed slightly different from the original. Keith's ryhthm guitar chords (I think that's Keith on both lead and ryhthm, overdubbed, as Brian was to "out of it" at this point to contribute) is more pronounced it seems. Keith's vocal's are slightly buried in the mix - it's just has a more threatening, menacing allure to it.
I'm probably the only guy in the world who likes "Hot Stuff" from Black and Blue as one my favorite RS song. "Hand of Fate" is one of my other favorite RS songs, same album. Jumping Jack Flash
Symphony for the Devil
Can't you Hear my Knocking
Did you see the documentary/concert "Shine a Light"... ? I liked it. Directed by Martin Scorcese. Esp. the duo w/Christina Aguiliera "Live with me" which they rarely do live. Also "You got the Silver" again a rare one live. With Buddy Guy appearance as well. Worth a look.
Wild Horses
Paint it Black
Gimme Shelter
