For me it's a tossup between
Siouxsie & The Banshees, "Peek-a-Boo" and
The Pogues, "London Girl".

I think I have to go with "London Girl" in the end because S&tB just use it as an accessory in their tune whereas the Pogues absolutely rock the squeezebox in theirs.

Hmmm--Barenaked Ladies' "One Week" comes to mind first.
There's Arcade Fire--"Rebellion" and "Tunnels."
And Flogging Molly, Los Lobos, Beausoleil, Dropkick Murphys....

Probably my first *awareness* of an accordion in rock came with Los Lobos and the Pogues, and then later, Beausoleil with their cajun melodies.

Here is Beausoleil, with their accordionist front and center:

Ronnie Lane`s stuff is riddled with it. Kuschty Rye is a great example. Although it was no secret that in his later years he had a very strong leaning toward Zydeco..

The song "This is the day" by "the the" uses the accordion well.
