I heard some of these indy floozies going on and on about Daft Punk. As a forty something trying perhaps to get some action from these young indy hipster bimbos I politely nodded my head and said, 'ok I'll listen to them sometime, but right now I wanna play Neutral Milk Hotel". I left a mental note for myself, about them. On my radio show which is largely free form AAA program I played them. Not only was I personally unimpressed, but my studio phone started ringing with angry listeners chastising me for playing them. SO, Daft Punk I have no time or use for you..
Yea they are a 90s group. I thinks its because they have their own unique sound, which is obvious....but also they never really play shows in the states.
Their latest album is unlike any of their previous albums, its more "band" oriented and has more funk in it. It took a while for it to grow on me since its a different side of Daft, but its ok.
Trends come and go young people dont have the attention span and things have no life at all. To these hipster bimbo chicks, Neutral Milk Motel was so 5+ years ago... I like both bands you mention but to a lot of poeople they want the latest and greatest and then its off to the next thing in a month or so.
The newest Daft Punk album is by far their least-impressive achievement, imho. Totally not impressed by it. I'd actually been listening to them for quite some time, and they have previously had some really awesome stuff.
Daft Punk is always out there and always good. Just listen to Discovery and Tron Legacy Still need to listen to the new album but from what I heard, it is pretty good.
