One night while late night cosmic bowling the place was full of teenies. This came on and I think I threw my sixteen pound ball at least 3/4 of the way down the lane. lol I walked up to the counter and said..."hey look here man (to the DJ)...this s*** sucks"! lmao "Got any Blackfoot in your box?" lol He said yeah...which one? I told him Train Train. He said he had it and blasted it next. The kids really didn't like that! After it was done, he said who requested it!
Seriously...most of the so called hits these days...
Stock chord progressions, minimal mindless lyrics,
singing via autotune, very few bother trying to write
a meaningful, memorable song these days, too bad.
I'll just stick to playing my old Van Morrison Moondance album
(on vinyl ) (original Warner Brothers "gold" label from 1970)
"and I'm like
Baby, baby, baby oooh
Like baby, baby, baby nooo
Like baby, baby, baby oooh
I thought you'd always be mine (mine)"
Or...
"Say, a doggy is nuttin' if he don' have a bone
All doggy, hold ya' bone, all doggy, hold it
A doggy is nuttin' if he don' have a bone
All doggy, hold ya' bone, all doggy, hold it
Who let the dogs out?
Who, who, who, who, who?
Who let the dogs out?
Who, who, who, who, who?"
Or...
"Before you came into my life
I missed you so bad
And you should know that
I missed you so, so bad
It's hard to look right,
At you baby,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe?"

Hate to be the one to tell you, but the gal can actually sing. Dog the style of music all you want but go ask Tony Bennett how well she belts out a tune.
