Personally, I'd put him in the official 'Jazz' thread. But posters in the music forum are generally free & welcome to post as they see fit.
(Jazz funk is more of a niche sub-genre, mostly spanning from the late 60's into the 80's. Gained popularity as musical instruments became electric & rather experimental, as music technology advanced. i.e. jazz-fusion, rare groove, etc...)
