I haven't seen a Jazz thread on this forum. Maybe I missed it. I like all forms of Jazz; Bop, Cool, Progressive, Free, Smooth, Acid, and even some older big band stuff that my parents used to like.

What are you listening to these days? I'm always looking for new artists. I've discovered Soulive (especially their album 'Next'), Eldar, and Bad Plus recently. Enlighten me.

Hopefully they will merge this thread but how deep into the stuff like Soulive? You into Incognito?

I imagine they'll merge them.

I like many different kinds of jazz, but I don't seem to like "Free Jazz" very often. I probably lean toward Brazilian, Cool, Soul/Hard-Bop, and Swing the most.

I like Incognito, especially their cover of Ronnie Laws' 'Almost There', but I'd put them in the category of R&B, which I also like. I think Soulive is the best 'fusion' jazz I've heard since the 70's. I was really into stuff like Return to Forever, Weather Report, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Keith Jarrett, Chic Corea, early George Duke, Ronnie Laws, Hubert Laws, Miles Davis' 70's stuff.
