I've been trying to think of the name of this movie off and on for months. My girlfriend and I watched it together a year or two ago and we both cannot seem to remember what the title is. I may be off on a few aspects of the plot, but here is how I remember it. The movie is a drama about a husband and wife who are planning a trip out of town. They have one or two children (I think it's just one) and have decided to hire a babysitter through an agency. Soon after leaving their home for their trip, somebody contacts the husband and wife and claims to have kidnapped their child/children. The husband and wife are led on a chase around the city (I'm pretty sure it took place in New York or Chicago) completing jobs for the supposed kidnapper (going to the bank to empty their accounts and such). I don't remember the middle of the movie that well, but I remember the end. After they arrive back at their home, the husband and wife find their daughter safe in their home. I'm not positive on this, but I believe the wife is the one who set up the husband throughout the whole movie because the husband was cheating on her.
I'm pretty sure the entire time the husband/wife were driving around the city they were in a Range Rover. Also, I don't remember who the main actors were in the movie, but my memory says the husband was a dark-haired man and the woman (in my mind at least) resembles Vera Farmiga (Running Scared).
I can't remember any other details, but if somebody recognizes my description of this movie, please please please let me know any suggestions of what it might be. It's driving me crazy.
Yes, I saw this movie! Thanks, because now it's going to drive me crazy thinking of its title! At one point were they on the roof of an office building when they were "downtown" taking care of the kidnapper's orders? I might be confusing that with another movie. If you think of it, please post it here so I can stop wondering and I will do the same. Was Pierce Brosnan (or some other fabulously handsome actor) in it maybe?
