A lot of great ones listed here. More to remember:

1. California Dreaming-Dennis Christopher stars as a midwesterner who moves to California to immerse himself into the sun and surf culture. Kind of a dramady. Has some poignant moments. Also stars Glynnis O'Connor as the object of his affections, a pre-Charlie's Angel Tanya Roberts and one of the Van Patten brothers.

2. Roller Boogie-Linda Blair as a rich beach girl who enters into a, what else?, roller boogie dance contest. Kimberly Beck is her much hotter best friend.

3. Thank God It's Friday-A night at the disco with Terri Nunn, later in the music group Berlin. Also stars Donna Summer and the Commodores in cameos.

4. Girls Just Want To Have Fun-Another dance related movie starring a great cast of Sarah Jessica Parker, Shannon Doherty and Helen Hunt. As with the above 2 movies, she wants to win a dance contest.

5. Can't Buy Me Love- Patrick Dempsey buys the affections of the hottest girl in town, Amanda Peterson, who died recently after falling on hard times. Patrick fared better in later life I'd say.

6. Career Opportunities-Frank Whaley works all night at Target and comes across Jennifer Connelly hiding in the store. Jen is quite young here and drop-dead gorgeous. Anybody remember her in her tight white tank top riding the mechanical horse?

Great memories of some not so great, but fun, movies.

I'm sure I have posters of a lot of those stored away in a closet. Many of the movies listed were the swan song movies for drive-in theatres (along with the horror movies of the era). I remember pasting up the veloxes of the advertisements for the newspapers and having an (ahem) pom-pom break through the border to give a 3-D effect.

"Porky's" is an absolute classic. I remember a few years after it came out driving a little past Homestead FL to the overseas highway and seeing a tittybar that might as well have been the inspiration for the film.

oh forgot one...The Lonely Lady with Pia Zadora. OK the movie was supposed to had been a drama but OMG....it was soooo bad it was funny. Even though it had been YEARS since I had seen that movie to this day every time I see a garden hose its a reminder to me anyway of The Lonely Lady.
