They did an.. Homage to it in 2001 with "Rat Race"

It's a pretty bad movie.. But.. For some reason, I rather enjoy it. Let's say this.. It's not an award winning film, but.. It's got some chuckles in it.

John Cleese, Rowan Atkinson (Pretty much playing Mr Bean), Cuba Gooding, Jr, Whoopi Goldberg, Seth Green, Jon Lovitz, Kathy Najimy, Breckin Meyer, Amy Smart, Dave Thomas and Wayne Knight

I saw that the 1st time I took LSD as a teenager at the Alex theater in Glendale CA, now a restored historical building.

I saw it once as a re-run on TV when I was in elementary school, it failed to keep my interest. Thought I was too young to appreciate it, saw it again as an adult; still didn't like it. It was a bit too madcap for me and I usually like madcap but this was just too all over the place. I didn't hate it. It just didn't hold my attention and I kept falling asleep.

Saw it when first released with a packed audience that tore down the theater with laughter. It's a classic in every way and I watch it rather often. Much is lost on younger people who don't know the stars in it. And on a small screen doesn't help. But it's a treasure when properly seen with the right audience. It endures.

I think you've got it right.

People today don't know what a cavalcade of stars this film was. But it works the other way, too. I'm 71 and I don't know half the current stars, particularly if they're from the hip hop world (and similar genres).
