Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989) - IMDb

Just watched it for the first time, just finished it.

Well, it's a horror movie of a type.........to think we were once like that.

Paddington 2 and Paddington. Both are unbelievably beautifully-crafted films. Especially Paddington 2. One of the very few 10/10 films I've seen in 2017.

Red Sparrow--C+ IMO
Didn't read the book but could see the "hook" coming a mile away...
Some of the violence was very hard to watch--can't say it was gratuitous given the circumstances of the plot and the characters providing the violence but I closed my eyes

I don't follow ballet but it is conceivable that Jennifer Lawrence could be a prima ballerina with her body--
She looked heavier than the male dancer who was supposed to be her partner and lift her...

Thought Mary-Louise Parker was about the best thing going...

Why if everyone in a movie is supposed to be speaking Russian to other Russians are they using English w/a Russian accent
Now the English parts (like to Parker's character) I can see justifying accented English but the rest I don't know--
And half of them were English vs American actors anyway--Irons, Richardson, Rampling and Hinds
Would have rather had them speaking to each other in bad Russian w/subtitles

But given the ending and if there is success in the boxoffice, I guess there could be a sequel in the works...
But this likely will do poorly for Lawrence in the US--maybe foreign receipts will be its saving grace...

I did not really expect that twist, and I was grateful for the summary at the end.

I did, too.

Are you asking if it IS conceivable? There are athletic ballerinas out there, but her body type was very distracting for me, especially in that early ballet scene. Just in general, her physicality did not fit her backstory. I would have expected someone with more slinky elegance. JL is earthy and sexy...but clunky and not graceful at all.

Eh. Better in RED.

I loved seeing Matthias Schoenaerts.

Longest. Movie. Ever. (Or at least it felt that way to me.) Not very exciting at all. And JL's acting was fine, but the entire movie was blank face. I started getting distracted by the perpetual blank face.

“Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.”

A difficult movie but the performances were excellent.
