Reefer Madness. I've heard about it for so long I finally had to sit down and see what it was. What it was was terrible.

I did enjoy seeing Jeff Goldblum.

Also saw The Shallows with Blake Lively. I liked it better. Happily, it was a short movie. There's not a lot of dialog, and not a lot of action, necessarily. Again, I found myself laughing inappropriately once near the end, but all in all it was a pretty good shark attack movie. I'd give it a B, maybe a B+.
I saw 3-d "Independence Day". It was fun in the sci fy action aspect, but I agree with you on the screenplay.

I also loved seeing Jeff Goldblum with his dry sense of humor made the movie. I'd see it again just to laugh with Jeff.

Seeing "The Shallows" soon. I've been putting it off because I live on Maui and swim 3 times a week at Ulua Beach where there's been several shark attacks in the past few years. Sooo, yah. So much for going in ocean and not thinking about sharks. Oh, I stay very, very close to the shorebreak. I cringe when I see tourists swimming out farther than 30 yards or snorkeling by the rocks. Yikes!!

Saw this the other day, and I'd been hemming and hawing on whether to go see this. I did see the trailer, and luckily it didn't have any major spoilers. So $4.00 Wednesday I went. There were 2 other people at the 11:50am showing. Today it's not playing at all. It was playing maybe 2 weeks or less in this town (and the one over).

I've seen almost all of his films; The Pusher trilogy, Bronson, Valhalla Rising, Drive, and Only God Forgives. OGF was the most difficult for me, and many others - loved the rest. If all you know of Mads Mikkelsen's work is Le Chiffre in Casino Royale, you're missing out (not to mention The Hunt (2012)).

The Neon Demon has more in common with Only God Forgives, complete with an ending that you can swallow.
