Well, I thought Valkyrie was ok. I'm over Tom Cruise though, but I am interested in the story and the person he portrayed. Eyes Wide Shut and Vanilla Sky have to be 2 of the worst movies of all time, walk-out worthy! , I thought War of The Worlds was stomachable, not the greatest, but tolerable.

For me:

Demolition Man

The Matrix 3

Rudy

Miami Vice

The Illusionist

Incredible Hulk (The Eric Bana version)

Troy (loved the bod, Brad, but sorry!)

Alexander (love Colin Farrell, but please!)

Hellboy 2

And I can't remember the name of this one, but it had Chris O'Donnell and Rene Zelweger in it, a cheesy romance comedy.
I stopped Matrix 3 at the scene where Neo loses his eyes and deleted it. Glad I didn't actually pay for it. God bless torrent software because of times like that -- ditto for Indiana Jones 4.

The only movie we ever walked out on was Eddie Murphy "Raw".

Man, I can fill a swear jar over time, but that waste of film was enough to make a longshoreman blush.

For that reason alone, I don't think I've spent money to go to a theatre since Forest Gump! I wait and watch movies on TV or video.

What I've always been torn about is when the whole 2 hours or whatever has been mediocre or tolerable and then the end of the movie is quite stunning or makes the whole thing make sense. I can appreciate the storyline or payoff but it's not really all that pleasurable watching it. I like to be entertained throughout the whole thing.

I agree, I need to be engrossed in the story the whole time, I can always tell when I am about to walk out, I also walked out on Van Helsing!! But the main reason for that is I was extremely sick, my friend thought a movie would be better than sitting home or walking around, and nothing else was playing at the time........so we left after about 20 mins!!

Mid to late 80's...Eddie Murphy's Raw....around the same time, there was a rock 'n roll biography movie with a guy and girl in it...can't remember the name. RAW was at Christmas time and I just couldn't take the intense anger and vulgarity. Might be different today.

My 'movie bible' is the NY Times movie page online...there are both critics reviews and readers reviews. The readers reviews offer many viewpoints, which I appreciate...from one end of the spectrum to the other. I have never been disappointed in a movie if I have first researched it in the NY Times.
