In your opinion, which actors/actresses should have won Oscars, but didn't?

My picks:

Cher in "Mask" was outstanding as Rusty Dennis. Why she was overlooked is still a mystery to me.

Joaquin Phoenix in "Walk The Line". He was very convincing as Johnny Cash and should have won the Oscar instead of Reese Witherspoon. She was good, too, but Joaquin had to really work to portray Johnny Cash realistically. He had it all down pat-the singing, the mannerisms, the voice, etc.

The actor who portrayed Jesus in "Passion of the Christ" should have won an Oscar, too. (can't recall his name.) Along with Mel Gibson for directing the movie.

To tell you the truth, I don't know who's won Oscars and who hasn't so I can't really say. But I think Cher is a great actress and I loved her in Mask (that movie always chokes me up no matter how many times I see it)

I love Joaquin but wasn't impressed with him as Cash. All I could see was Joaquin. It was too forced. But I agree about Jim Caviezel (sp) in The Passion.

Paul Reubens as Pee Wee in Pee Wee's Big Adventure.

And why haven't Cheech & Chong ever won an Oscar?

I've done my share of who and who didn't win Oscars.

Denzel Washington for his role in "Malcolm X"; however, at least he lost to true competition, which was Al Pacino in "Scent of a Woman". More will come to me.

ITA about Leonardo DiCaprio-he was really convincing as a mentally-challenged boy.

Jim Carrey in The Truman Show. I can't believe they didn't even nominate him.
