So who has seen it. I saw the whole organ donation thing 30 minutes into the movie! Any one else?
I figured it out in the opening credits or the first 5 minutes.. the car accident scenes and the title of the film with its obvious Shakespeare allusion to "a pound of flesh" did it for me. Also when he told the story about the first time he saw one of those jellyfish I knew how he was going to do it.
I had to look it up on the internet when I got home to figure out all 7 people though, I had missed one or two. I was really bored through most of the movie and I thought it was 30 minutes too long.
However, I found myself thinking about this film a lot over the few days after I saw it, so I must grudgingly give it a good review despite its slowness and predictability.
Let me say that although I loved it and his acting, I think that the reasons it didn't do as well as most of his movies are b/c of the economy and b/c it came out at xmas. People want/need/expect a lighter movie right now.

I agree with your comments. I pretty much figured out the entire movie halfway through; except for the fact that he wasn't Ben Thomas with the IRS - that one caught me off guard - but I still cried when he killed himself. I liked seeing Will in a more serious, less actiony (yes I made that up) role. I hope he continues to pick roles from all over the spectrum.
I didn't like. I was expecting more. I didn't understand Will Smith's character. Why did he seem as though he had some mental problem. The movie had a good idea but didn't deliver it well.
What DOES seven pounds refer to anyway? I just watched it. Didn't really care for it.
It comes from Shakespeare's "The Merchant of Venice", where a wager is set and the debt to be paid if unfulfilled will result in '7 pounds of flesh' being taken. These days it means nothing will prevent the debt from being repaid, no matter how devastating.
