He had a lot of great roles. I don't have a clear favorite, but Good Morning Vietnam and Dead Poet's Society would be up there. Oh and The Birdcage was hilarious.
The Fisher King. Not the funniest, but my very favorite. I love What Dreams May Come, too. Cry through the whole thing every time I watch it. There's a rare case (IMO) of the movie being better than the book.
Did you see Williams in an episode of Law and Order where he plays the tourist to NYC whose wife is killed in street mugging?
One of his earliest drama performances
So much attention because it proved he could act not just be an off the wall comic
And after that the ‘sister show’ (SVU) had him do a great guest spot as the perp for the 200th episode.
What Dreams may Come with a runner up of One Hour Photo.
Personally, I've never seen Mrs. Doubtfire; the subject material doesn't interest me. Robin Williams might be great but if the subject material won't get one into the door, what difference does it make? It's like Awakenings for while it is ROBIN WILLIAMS!.....it is nothing fantastic.
It really helps to be interested in the story for the star to shine.

It's interesting that this thread popped up for me today. Earlier a friend posted the video below. I kind of hope that this project comes to fruition. And this actor seems to capture Robin's spirit well. I'm curious what others think.
