Well, it sort of classifies as a horror movie......sort of. The pretty boys are nice to look at, he's well cast. The priest is as well as a sleeze. It's okay for what it is, debauchery in another time. It sort of lacks in gets to a point in the movie where it is like, "Hey, we are almost out of time, we have to finish this!". Still, it does have hope of a happy ending. A 6.7.

If you say so (yes, it is there in trivia for the entry)

Looking at his credits, I see there is only a handful of movies of his I have seen, so I do not know him.
The movie under discussion, O Brother, Valley/Elah and A Beautiful Mind.

Two things I've noticed about this flick is how the pretty boy lead, no doubt to reflect Sade, resembles Keir Dullea when he played Sade in the late 60s. Secondly, in the Playboy review of that latter movie, done in the Playmate of Year issue for 1969(?), there were lots of scenes of the fun debauchery, much like the trailer for the flick under discussion.

Yet, "in reality", those scenes come out of dream sequences so while they are fun to look at, they really don't contribute to the telling of the story.

Playboy and Sade (and Roger Corman), perverting the minds of little girls through out time.

AFTERMATH on Netflix. A decent little "dont look in the basement" type horror show. I give it a B+.

Very entertaining for a new comer to the neighborhood trying to learn his way. An 8.9!

Deakins got an Oscar for Blade Runner 2049 (2017). He was also the d.o.p. for Sicario, Skyfall and No Country for Old Men. All are great-looking movies.

Well, I am glad for him though I wonder about making a great looking movie in a franchise that burned its bridge.......but that's just my opinion.

Otherwise, tonight,

A Touch of Frost: Dead Male One

It's okay but I think it leaves questions unanswered. Say a 7.0.

The Last Legion

Monday is my Clubs and Swords night and watching this movie tonight made me realize that it is a good day to watch swords a clashing. Something to take away the return to the work week blues. That said, this movie is rather good. Of course, it helps to be somewhat involved in such worlds. Hence, the movie is part entertainment, part being part of it, and part remembering once when we were Gods. A 9.7.

Foyle's War: Plan of Attack

YES! Chris Foyle is BACK!........and he's never even been here before!............sorry, wrong script. But it is Foyle, it is as excellent as ever....though probably do need Foyle's brain to come to the conclusion. A 9.5.

A Touch of Frost:Unknown Solders

I watch British mysteries primarily so I don't see all the errors made in American mysteries; if they get it wrong in the former, how would I know?

It is interesting to watch a show about guns from a country where guns are so restricted, from the attitudes to the lack of information presented to the audience. After all, how would the intended audience know the difference?

Say an 8.8. One thing is it is like the classical description of Brit humor in hard to follow. One has to follow Frost, such a delightful irritating prat he is, and not try to figure out where he is going or what he knows.
