My wife had never seen the movie "Better of Dead" before, so we watched that Friday night. It's still a humorous movie. Growing up in the '80's seemed so much more carefree.
Started watching the new Jamie Foxx movie "Day Shift", which wasn't too bad if you're into the vampire genre. The soundtrack was great. I still have to finish it, though.
Quite perhaps the epitome of a garden variety zombie flick , it's nonetheless entertaining to watch if you have a bit of more than usual spare time IMHO .
Reads on imdb as a 3 hr 12 minute flick but my is 2 DVDs of over 4 hours. So watched it in 3 sittings of last Monday, this Monday, and last night. Richard Burton does wonderfully as a man driven away from his glory days by drink and a woman.......as Richard Burton, but there's not the connection that Marc Antony was like that. Antony's fall from his final battle had the unfortunate feel of things of our current world. An incredible movie and it will probably take more than one watching to get the most out of it. Since it is something of history, this can be done without too much of a hurdle for we know how the story goes.....the ship sinks. A 8.4.
Anybody remember this one?
I thought it was surprisingly good. John Travolta is a reporter, who heads to LA to report on gyms, as the meat markets of the 80s. He meets an aerobics instructor there (Jamie Lee Curtis), who basically gives him a painfully personal lesson in journalistic ethics. Some great 80s nostalgia, and some ridiculously long, drawn-out workout scenes. Some of these jazzercise scenes make the They Live fight scene seem like a brief edit..
Been a tough week and some movies have been broken over a day or two. Lots there in this flick, it moves along steadedly but as with any mystery movie, even one with good clues, it may be hard to follow. Just sit back and enjoy. A 7.6.
