This.. Actually seems like it might happen. A casting call has been put out for later this month for extras. Filming scheduled for late Feb to March in New Orleans.

I'm a fan of the Kevin Smith movies, and I'm not overly sure why. I mean, they're generally just silly, but they make me laugh.

Smith has got a bad habit of announcing projects that fall through, like Clerks 3, MallBrats and others. But this one seems like it's actually going to happen.

It's happening.

Clerks 3 didn't get financing. Kevin's "True North" trilogy is what got financed, so he made those, instead.

He got financing for Clerks 3 after Tusk and the like. Jeff Anderson wouldn't sign on to reprise the role of Randall.

I tried to watch it last night on Prime. I didn't get 10 minutes into before I bailed. It was just S.T.U.P.I.D.

And I say that as a Kevin Smith fan....

I never liked the originals. Zero interest in a remake.

I fact, I don't think I have ever liked a Kevin Smith movie. Just not for me. I don't think they are objectively bad or anything. They just don't speak to me in any way.

More of a sequel than a remake. I'm not positive, because I couldn't get past the first 10 minutes.

I really liked Clerks and consider it the quintessential example of guerilla filmmaking. And it was filmed in Leonardo, NJ. Which is where the pier side annex of Naval Weapons Station, Earle is located. And I was active duty on a ship, homeported at NWS Earle at when it was filmed (although I didn't know it at the time). So I'm familiar with some of the local landmarks.

I didn't like Clerks II and thought Dogma was just weird. Mallrats was goofy, funny fun. Kevin Smith's best movie by far was Chasing Amy. (And that's not just because Joey Lauren Adams is just about as adorable as a woman can get. ) That was Kevin Smith at his best. If you haven't seen it, you should check it out.

There are some funny moments in their movies. But I'm also usually thinking, these are probably not very nice people in real life.

Didn't this Jay and Silent Bob go out with Bevis and Butthead? They tried rebooting the latter and we know how that turned out...

Beavis & Butthead was a show that looked dumb on the surface but was actually one of the smartest shows on TV in its day.

Jay & Silent Bob looked dumb and ... well, they're just dumb.
