Teaser trailer looks promising.

The CGI looks amazing.

Why are all the herbivores worshipping the birth of a new future lion king if the lions eat them?

Disney just showing they don't have any creativity anymore since Walt died. They either copy from obscure movies, books and TV, remake their own stuff, or just buy out companies and remake their stuff.

Remaking movies every 15-20 years is fine.

Different generations of children can enjoy the same stories with updated tech.

Did you ask that question when the first Lion King came out?

This trailer is scene-for-scene the same as the first Lion King trailer.

Considering what Walt Disney was already doing with animation/live action editing and animatronics, I have no doubt he'd have been all over CGI if it had been available in 1960.

I ask that because I've seen the first one. However, it hasn't really crossed my mind in a long time.

Of course he would have.

It comes down to how frequently it's done as to whether it's overkill or not. Disney does a good job of starving media from the public before reintroducing it for new generations. Believe it or not, parents like sharing modern versions of stories they grew up with.

I always wondered why every animal was cheering for the birth of their potential executioner.
