Disney just showing they don't have any creativity anymore since Walt died. They either copy from obscure movies, books and TV, remake their own stuff, or just buy out companies and remake their stuff.

Remaking movies every 15-20 years is fine.

Considering what Walt Disney was already doing with animation/live action editing and animatronics, I have no doubt he'd have been all over CGI if it had been available in 1960.
I ask that because I've seen the first one. However, it hasn't really crossed my mind in a long time.

Of course he would have.
It comes down to how frequently it's done as to whether it's overkill or not. Disney does a good job of starving media from the public before reintroducing it for new generations. Believe it or not, parents like sharing modern versions of stories they grew up with.
