A nerdy MIT student, in order to finance Harvard Law School, counts cards in Las Vegas, wins hundreds of thousands of dollars and becomes a high roller.
This was a pretty good way to spend a spring break afternoon.
There seemed to be a few plot holes, though the film is based on a true story.
I still don't really understand counting cards, but math was never my strength.
Watching the strategies play out was fun, but the movie goes on a bit too long.
It reminded me of how one trip to Vegas was more than enough for me.
Kevin Spacey plays the mastermind professor who was behind this student caper. He was appropriately cool and condescending.
Jim Sturgess, who looks like Paul McCartney's long-lost little brother, or maybe George Harrison's cousin, did a pretty nice job, as did Kate Bosworth.

Just watched it again the second time.
It is based on a book ,and the book is based on real event,Jeff Ma is the hero .an Asian American student from MIT.
I dont understand how they count card either, the way they signal to Sturgess is with their hands, they folded their hands behind the chair, signally for him to come to the table.
Then words have meaning, sweet =16 as in sweet 16.

But the part about Fishborne getting the money to retire,is this real?
