The Fall. This movie blew me away. It's worth it for the production design and cinematography alone. I still can't believe it wasn't nominated for Best Picture.

I agree with Out of the Furnace........VERY underrated and a good action/gangster type movie. Bale is awesome and Affleck does a pretty good job as well.

A GREAT gem that comes to mind....

1. "A guide to Recognizing your Saints" - which might be my favorite movie ever. Robert Downey Jr, Rosario Dawson, Chazz Palminteri, Eric Roberts, Channing Tatum and Shia LeBeouf. Awesome Awesome movie which nobody talks about.

I've not yet seen it but purchased it from Amazon some time ago on sale and never downloaded it, forgot that it's in my library. Thanks for the reminder!

Trying to think of more, One that comes to mind is "The fourth protocol" with Pierce Brosnan and Michael Caine a spy thriller of a frederick forsyth novel.
And also "The quiet american" with Brendan Fraser and Michael Caine. And Eye of the Needle with Donald Sutherland another thriller.

I agree I loved The Quiet American remake.

I wonder if the great films of the 1940-1970s are forgotten today. One rarely sees them on television unless it is TCM or AMC.

QA above had me thinking about Sand Pebbles.
