My favorites sort of change constantly, so this list is by no means absolute. My 10 favorites (in no order) right now are:

La Notte (1961, Michelangelo Antonioni)
The 400 Blows (1959, Francois Truffaut)
Seven Samurai (1954, Akira Kurosawa)
Persona (1966, Ingmar Bergman)
Ugetsu (1953, Kenji Mizoguchi)
Le Samourai (1967, Jean-Pierre Melville)
The Wayward Cloud (2005, Tsai Ming-Liang)
The Wind Will Carry Us (1999, Abbas Kiarostami)
Millennium Mambo (2001, Hou Hsiao-Hsien)
Le Havre (2011, Aki Kaurismäki)

No order, just winging it here.

The Graduate
7 Brides for 7 Brothers
Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Can't Hardly Wait
Goodfellas
Love Actually
Flight of the Phoenix
Cannibal! The Musical
Gone With the Wind
This is Spinal Tap

There are more but I stopped at 10. Not that I think these are all "the best thing ever put on film" but they are the ones I've enjoyed watching over and over

Breakfast at Tiffany's
Warriors
The Color Purple
Grease
Rocky Horror Picture Show
McClintock
The Christmas Card
Sleepless in Seattle
You've Got Mail
The Passion of the Christ

No particular order on these. It took me a while to think of these since I rarely watch movies.

Gone With the Wind
Sabrina
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Werewolf in London
Grease
ET
Harvey
Warhorse
To Kill a Mockingbird
Sleepless in Seattle
Private Benjamin

These are enjoyable to me, not necessarily critically applauded.

Worst IMO

Anything by Quentin Tarentino, too much vulgarity posing as artistic license.
American Hustle, boring.
All of the Twilight movies, the vampires all look constipated.

Just Friends
Pineapple Express
Fast Times At Ridgemont High
The Breakfast Club
Pretty In Pink
We're The Millers
Grandma's Boy
Leap Year
Wedding Crashers
A Lot Like Love
Just Married
Killers
27 Dresses

This list could go on for eternity lol...

Worst movies: 300 it was totally boring to me, however; my brother loved it. The Twilight Saga movies were totally unrealistic to the books. They basically changed so much in the movies that it was stupid to watch them after reading the books. I love the Beautiful Creatures movie, but, once again Hollywood film-makers didn't stick to the book on this one either. The Prince & Me Pt. 1 had good characters, good chemistry, but, in Part 2 they changed everything and continued to make a Part. 3 and so on. Why do they do this after they have one good movie and screw up the rest???

Based on what you like, you will probably love American Hustle. I hated it. Also, I loved The Hobbit 2 and Hunger Games 2. I have seen the rest, so I have no clue. I probably won't see the rest because I am not interested in them.
