I enjoyed it. Favorite scene was the crawl to the car. Also saw American Hustle and thought all did an amazing job - Bale and Adams a definite nod, and, most likely another Lawrence/Cooper, but for supporting this go-round. So many on my list...want to see SHE, Mr. Banks, there's more....just not out yet.
I really liked it .... was definitely a touch long, but other than that I think they did a good job of capturing a bit of the wall street excess, how people can corrupt themselves and all the things that lead to the fall
I pretty much disagree with a lot of the sentiment on this thread - I think they did a nice job showing how he made it and how he started as a guy struggling to get by and learning the ropes of being a broker who thought it was a job with some integrity to how he embraced the chase for money and the excess of money at all costs leading to his first divorce and how that same feeling of invincibility kept him from knowing when to get out ........ I liked the FBI line about how many people he met in this job were 'jerks' but that could be traced back to their fathers, but Belfort was able to get there all on his own
I'm typically not a Jonah Hill fan, but really found him to be funny in this movie
I heard about all the "sex" in this movie and was surprised by how little sex they actually showed - it was basically montage scenes of wild, drug addled excess - more nudity than anything else ....... not all that bad
then again, I'm not one for language or nudity to offend me ........ I think the movie did a nice job of showing how pathetic he was with his drug dependency - I think the most offensive things in the movie were his actions when he was bombed on drugs or at the end when he had his last fight with his wife
I'm also beginning to appreciate Jonah Hill more and more; I thought he was perfectly cast opposite Brad Pitt, Phillip Seymour Hoffman and the always wonderful Robin Wright in 'Moneyball'.
I also felt that this film did a superb job in visualizing just how extreme Wall Street hustlers were not only on duty but after hours as well; I don't think it'll get a Best Picture Oscar nomination, but we'll all find out a week from Thursday.

I agree, he's really making a nice career for himself, and avoiding being forever pigeonholed as "the fat guy from SUperbad".

I figure from all that the next breed of Wall St hustlers won't be following this act. They'll learn form the pix to make their act nice, shiny and smooth and dumping the excess...;-)....Next up...films which explore the absolute destruction of the lives who get caught up in listening and following those of that ilk. Not sure though if people would get into the seats to watch all that.
Just saw it. Too long and too much profanity and soft porn type scenes. Subtlety appears lost on Hollywood and everything has to be in your face. Leonardo basically reprises himself as he did in Catch Me If You Can but with vulgarity added to the new storyline.
This movie has the most profanity and foul language than any other movie. The "F" bomb was dropped 506 times LOL
Entertaining but way too long. I lost most of the interest after 2 hours.
