Is it just my luck, or do others have issues with the DVDs from Netflix? A high percentage of mine stop, skip, jump, or just plain won't play. Some of them I've sent back because it's next to impossible to watch them at all, others we've just skipped ahead or whatever it takes to make them play. But we shouldn't have to do that. And, no, it's not because we have an old player, we just got a new Blu-Ray player a while ago.
Does anyone else have this problem, or am I the only lucky one??

I have had Netflix for 6 years now and I can only remember getting one disc that wasnt playable and the envelope was all bashed up so I think it happened during the mailing. I have probably gotten over 300 movies from them and never have problems.

I have had some that did not play on my Sony Blu-ray but then it played fine on my laptop or on another machine. Have you tried playing it on another device?

I've had a few. Either the disc was the only one they had and so it had been used a LOT or it was an older title that maybe hadn't been stored very well. Lately I've had very good luck with my discs.

I've only had 4 or 5 unplayable ones in 10 yrs. I should say that their disks look dirty to me (understandable with so many people handling them), so I do clean with a microfiber cloth prior to playing. For just those 4-5 ones it hasn't been enough. Try it, in case you haven't already.

I have had a LOT of them that won't play. I know it is my not DVD player even though it isn't new. Because every other DVD I stick in it works. If you look closely at Netflix's DVDS, some are really scratched up, and the one's that don't play usually have some missing part of the DVD towards the middle or a deep scratch. Most of the time they will play when I use a soft cloth to clean them up. I get tired of having to return them to get another one, wastes time and I don't get my money's worth.
I have also gotten the empty envelope a few times with no DVD in it. Lost en-route somewhere. I suggest they use a better padded envelope for them, instead of the way they do it now. It doesn't have to be super padded, just enough to help keep it safe until it gets to us.

I guess you have to add me to the list of people who have had NetFlix for years with very little trouble. I have had to return only two DVD's that were unplayable I would say over the course of maybe eight years.

Maybe its the type of movie you tend to order? Like someone said, one that they only have a few of and get beat up
