I will have to admit I really enjoyed The Help.

It turned out to be an interesting study during a difficult time in America-----it was a fine movie----very enlightening-----I think some Oscars may be in order.

I always thought of "Bend it Like Beckham" as more of a family/drama type movie rather than an actual "chick flick" ...although it makes sense that "chicks" will probably enjoy the movie a lot simply because of a female playing as the lead character and the plot revolving around her overcoming tough obstacles to reach her dreams....

Some are classics that everyone loves:

Muriel's Wedding

Run Lola Run

Chick Flicks is a rather vaguely defined genre, but these very good films that I've rated 10 on IMDB, could be classified as chick flicks:

Immediate Family
Ruby in Paradise
Career Girls (Mike Leigh)
The Dreamlife of Angels
My First Mister
Lion's Den
Worlds Apart
4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days
Double Happiness
You Can Count on Me
Thirteen
The Lover (Jane March)
The Tango Lesson
Imaginary Crimes
The Civilization of Maxwell Bright
Secrets & Lies
Heaven (Cate Blanchett)
Life According to Muriel
Always

Loved Run Lola Run, it's a classic indeed. Haven't seen most of the other ones, will check them out! Thanks for the list.

I wouldn't really call Run Lola Run a "chick flick"... It's a crazy German action-thriller with a female lead, but it doesn't really have the whole female bonding or romantic comedy or love story themes that typify what we consider to be chick flicks...
