It's all going to depend on your financial situation and needs. You're going to get varying answers off opinions with a general question like that. I personally will always buy outright just to avoid having to have full coverage insurance and make payments. Others prefer to finance, build credit, etc.
My Personal opinion is that a motorcycle is a toy, and you pay cash for toys. I have this opinion even after going motorcycle-only for 8 years (and paid cash for the bikes I bought through those years).
What's right for you though? That's your decision. Some people do just fine with financing everything and working hard to make those monthly payments, but most people suck at it (hence the horrendous debt issue in this country). Pay cash and you're not locked into a monthly bill, meaning you're not locked into a sihtty job because of that monthly bill. And it's not like the money used to buy a motorcycle could "make you more money doing something else", we're talking about small sums of money here (relatively).
I've done both. There's no harm in financing as long as you budget properly. Obviously you pay more long-term if you finance, but I always considered it a fair trade for being able to enjoy the bike now versus months/years from now when I had the cash. Biggest thing is to stay within your budget and purchase sensibly.
