Notice that even in 1978, they were still hand painting the pin stripes....albeit I think the guy that did my tank may have been hung-over that day as they aren't exactly very straight.
I draw quite a bit. Perhaps I'll post some of my drawings at some point someplace on C-D. I'll often take a photograph and then recreate it in pencil. I especially like doing Formula One cars in action with coloured pencil.
KoobleKar: LOL! Well , I'd rather have slightly imperfect real pin-striping than decals any day. Perhaps the poor guy knew that the Meriden plant wasn't long for the world and he'd be out of a job. I think it struggled along until 1983, with low visibility.

Lovely bike. The coach stripes just add to the character, of which Triumphs are loaded.
Here's an example of one of my F-1 paintings done in oil. While this one is of a more modern F-1 car, most of my F-1 paintings are of the classic variety such as Jim Clark driving the iconic Ford DFV powered Lotus F-1.
