Depends on your take -- while I agree there is something a little "sentimental" thinking about an 80 year old single woman "moving up" to "home ownership" after about 6 decades as a renter, the financials of this are pretty nutty. Her new "maintenance fees" (co-op speak for assessments) are ridiculously high. Her thoughtless neighbor ought to rethink leaving a yappy dog penned up all day. Her luck with contractors sounds worse than I would hope for. For goodness sake wouldn't responsible remodeling contractor want to be sure she could enjoy her new shower ASAP...

Maybe at age of 80, she realizes that life is too short to enjoy
