Did you know there is actually a Fife Street in Morgantown. I'd imagine that is where they got the name for the character. I didn't know Don Knots, but I knew his sister and she was a very sweet person.

You all need to check out the deaths of so many students in Morgantown and find out what is really going on...Morgantown Is NOT A NICE PLACE TO "LIVE">>
My dad was in Don Knott's class at Morgantown High and he signed my Dad's yearbook. He always said he was from a nice family. Fife St. was there long before the character on TV. THere is a Don Knotts Blvd. that has been named after him in the last few years. Having grown up there, gone to WVU and worked at WVU, I can say there is always more to the story than what is printed or promoted. Now that I have lived away from there, I can say it is a wonderful diverse town with a lot to offer.

I thought Fife Street preceeded the character since it is not in a newer section of town. I certainly agree with you about Morgantown. It's a great place to live and getting better all the time. It has the advantages of a large city with few of the disadvantages. Maybe that's why it is consistently listed among the most desirable places to live in the country.
