I know its a major expense has additional technical issues...but man would it be nice if the utilities along mile ground were under ground.
That stretch is a freaking eyesore. In for a penny, in for a pound - now is the time to do it even with the extra expense. Maybe some of that billion dollar road bond can be put to use in Mon county.
Baby steps I suppose. I'm just glad they're finally getting the old poles out of the road. I think the tire shop is moving too so that will be another eyesore gone. It's so junky.

Agreed. Having utility poles next to the road looks trashy.

Agreed but it's not going to happen. It's not a walkable section of town, which is an incentive to bury them. And there aren't "nice" businesses up there. I mean the mileground consists of a BFS, some used car dealerships, some auto mechanics, etc. Spending the extra money to bury powerlines isn't going to change anything about the area. Now if the Mileground consisted of some high-end shopping or something, you may have a case to bury the lines.
