Layoffs at MTL companies, as every tech company is now "restructuring" and preparing for a recession

Mobile game developer Jam City laid off hundreds of developers (Montreal + U.S offices)

RENORUN LAYS OFF 12 PERCENT OF STAFF, PAUSES GEOGRAPHIC EXPANSION AMID UNCERTAINTY SURROUNDING CONSUMER SPENDING

Thankfully with the jam city layoffs (Ludia office MTL), our gaming scene is so large that Ubisoft and other companies are hiring those affected asap.

There's a huge cluster called the BioTech city, 100+ companies and 5,000+ workers. I would also assume it's cheaper to operate there than the clusters in Montreal.

AlayaCare fired 14% of its workforce (80 employees).

So far the tech industry in Montreal has lost 150 employees, if you include Playtika it's around 200 (no stats on the number of employees they had here)
