Hi,
I've a TFWP (temporary foreign work permit) and plan to come out in mid August, all being well.
Has anyone on the forum (with a TFWP) any experience concerning getting their spouse a work permit once landed?
I have reports that all she would need is a job offer, she then needs to toddle off to some CIC office (or somewhere) to get her open work permit authorised/authenticated/printed/something , and voilà she can work.
I am here (from the US) with my husband. He has a Temp work permit (via his job with contract to work here for 1-3 yrs). I have an "open work permit" via my husbands permit - got it from the customs office; took some time, but otherwise no big deal. If I recall correctly, we had to have hubby's permit (he already had it), our marriage license, my birth certificate (I think?).
How long can a temporary work permit last? What happens when the temporary work permit expires?
