Hello,
I've been a avid fan of the city of MTL for some time now; my father attended McGill in the early 80s and made it seem like a magical wonderland. Also, after I spent a summer studying abroad at Université Laval. I have plans to move to MTL in about a year or so and was wondering if anyone on here can help me with useful pointers on; young, artistic neighborhoods? how hard is it to find work? My background is mostly in fashion, I have done everything from retail to management to sales where I am currently. Lastly, is it difficult to obtain a work visa or any of the official paperwork to be considered a legal resident?

Thank you and have a great day,
Ike

Montreal sounds like a great choice for you, cant help with the job availability but online job search engines like this one Find Jobs. Build a Better Career. Find Your Calling. | Monster.ca
Should give an idea of job availability in you field of interest.

In the meantime the paperwork needs to be addressed = Home - Citizenship and Immigration Canada - Canada

Here's another job site that I keep hearing advertised on a local radio station:

To get a good idea of housing/rental prices The housing section in the Craigslist site will give you an idea, you might want to use a map of Montreal to see where many of these places are.
craigslist: montreal classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events
