I saw an exhibit on this at the McCord museum in Montreal a few years ago. One thing I remember is how some Irish immigrants changed the spelling of their last names but kept the pronunication. So for example O'Hare was changed to Auhaire.
Never heard of Auhaire but I know these:
McGee=Mainguy or Minguy
Sullivan=Sylvain
Leahey=LaHaye or Lahaie
O'Brien=Brien or Aubry
Reilley=Riel
Just because most anglophones speak french or conduct activities in french doesn't indicate that they're assimilated or "frenchified". It's just a necessary aspect of life.
The classification of linguistic communities here is very inconsistent and sometimes even detrimental to the presence of English-speakers here.

No one here said that a significant proportion of the native anglo community in Quebec was Frenchified. But there are some of them for sure.

For sure, I've heard some when speaking english pronoucing the letter H like french speakers, kinda strange.
