Yes talk about disappointment, he expected soft-spoken Marcus Welby MD and got the PQ version of Dr Mengele instead .... heads gotta roll

No he expected a bit of compassion and understanding from a highly trained professional who was working in a bilingual environment to be cognizant in some aspects of Anglo medical terminology , what he got was a rude ignorant separatist simpleton who thought it a good time to pull a linguistic power trip on the hysterical parents.
Real class act.Non, moi je parle francais

I was reading that article and I still cant picture what he meant by pronouncing a French persons name in English. Names are not supposed to be translated, its the name of something/Someone. Is he saying that Pierre Jacque, should be pronounced Peter Jack?? If so he is a moron

I don't think he went that far.

Rather, he probably had something like this in mind

He is saying Pierre Jacque should be pronounced the way an English-speaking person would read that name disregarding what that person's name actually sounds like in French, i.e. maybe "jack-yu" (jackie?) instead of "jock" (not "djock"), or pronouncing 'W's in Polish names as 'W' instead of 'V', and so on.

I don't have Sun News but I guess that's about par for the course. At its core it isn't a French vs. English issue, that's a foreign-language issue, case in point most French people in Quebec say "So-shee" and not "So-tshee", or "Tomass Plekanek" instead of "Tomash Plekanets". No big deal IMO until some retard essentially makes a political "proud to be stupid" statement.

This is like changing Giovanni Caboto to John Cabot or Jeanne d'Arc to Joan of Arc. If we can't even call Burma and Ceylon by their English names anymore, how are they supposed to argue the political correctness of this?

The topic is pronunciation, not spelling. Nobody suggested the speed skater's name to be called anything other than Charles Hamelin, so I'm not sure I see the parallel you're trying to make.
