Reminder: speed limits in Canada are Kilometers per hour. If you car does not have a dual or conversion speedometer be careful not to be caught going 60 mph in a 60 kph zone. 60 mph is about 95 kph and the cops might notice.
On our last trip to that region I drove into an expressway entrance marked 40 at a little over 65 mph. That was an interesting turn. I had not realized my huge Buick Wagon could corner that well.

Funny story but I don't get something. If you thought it was 40 mph, wouldn't you have been going 40 mph, and not 65 mph? For you to have been going 65 mph the sign would have had to say 65, no?
Is the trip further downstream towards Baie Comeau or even beyond well worth it? Is the drive very scenic? Is there any hiking or biking trails up there that I should know of? Is there a scenic train ride I can take up there?

Tadoussac is a charming old-style resort town at the junction of the St. Lawrence and Saguenay:
The Saguenay River, which cuts inland from this point, is actually in a very spectacular fjord, which is a fairly rare geographic feature in this part of the world.
The Mingan area is also quite spectacular on the north shore, but this is even further than Baie-Comeau:

If you wanted some of the best of Quebec scenery i'd suggest a tour around Quebecs Gaspe region rather than the Tadoussac to Baie Comeau direction, but it appears you dont have 3-4 days required to do the trip.
plan-b enjoy next time https://www.google.ca/search?safe=ac...w=1024&bih=618
Is either the city of Saguenay or Lac St Jean worth a visit? Because I am going to be Montreal, and will be close to Quebec City anyways so I wonder if going to Saguenay would have any point. And also I plan on driving downstream along the St Lawrence. So would there be any point to viewing the lake? People have mentioned the Saguenay Fjord but I could enjoy that without having to go the distance to Saguenay Lac St Jean area right?
Also how is the air and water temperature of the St Lawrence in the middle of July. I plan on doing Sea Kayaking, but am hesitant because of the temperature. I may get wet, or even flip over, and I might get sick. I am wondering should I just stick to biking and driving.
