Okay it is this time of the year again. I want to travel to Quebec for vacation, and want to do some adventures, eco-tourism.
Someone mentioned Salon Du Plein Airs, or exhibitions. Are there online Salon Du Plein Airs?
What kinds of outdoor activities are available to me. Can ride a waverunner into a fjord, or kayak into one? When I was in Kern County CA, there is a place called Jawbone Canyon, and a store rented out ATV for you to ride around. Is there any place like that in Quebec? And the Jawbone is quite vast. Is there any spectacular scenic routes that I can joyride through? What about hunting? Or a wilderness survival course?

I guarantee you that there's all of that. It's not my bag though, and city-data's Quebec contingent isn't that big a community. I'll tell you about two features I do know as a lay person. First, is that the Saguenay Fjord is spectacular and you could definitely ride a waverunner into it. Second, that Anticosti Island has a just ridiculous number of deer on it that you can go an hunt. If you're looking for a bigger challenge and bigger game, you can go on a moose hunt, or even a bear hunt:
I suggest, for the geology students or naturalists, the Charlevoix Crater. it is located about 130 miles (200 km) north east of Quebec City on Ca Rt 138. The village of Baie St Paul is on the south edge of the Crater. You can stop at the top of the wall before town and look across the 25+ km extent. There is a small museum with summer bus tours. My wife and I found it fascinating.
You can also view one of the largest meteorite craters on the planet at the end of the road to Barrage Daniel Johnson (Manic 5). This is best described by looking at it on Google satellite view. Look for the circular lake in NE Quebec. The dam is also a very impressive and unique structure.
I have gone through all the site you guys have posted, and I thank you for them but, as I do not know the geography, place names, distances between the places, I am thinking of using a travel agent. Can you guys recommend any?
Also are there any all inclusive mountain or riverside resorts?
Well, there's always Mont Tremblant, which offers everything from kayaking to ziplining to falconry to rafting to mountain climbing to hiking to outdoor survival courses.
Not exactly 'hinterlands', but when you're tired and hungry and dirty, you can go 'luxe' and do the restaurant-spa thing.
I have found a few resorts in the Charlevoix region just upstream along the St Lawrence from Quebec City. Can you please tell me about the region? Is this area known as a resort destination? On their websites they say they are 2hrs from Quebec city. Does this area have much entertainment at night? I would hate to have to drive 2hrs to Quebec City at night for stuff to do.

It is a resort destination, the countryside there is breathtakingly beautiful and thousands of whales converge where the Saguenay meets the now briny St. Lawrence. As for nightlife, the towns around there are sizable enough that you won't get tired of their local night spots in just a few days. I know that La Malbaie, which is probably very near where you'll be, has a Casino, which is just next to large and historic Fairmont where I'm sure there's stuff to do at night.
Awesome ! ! ! glad to hear it, now does anyone know a travel agent, a website like Cheap Carribean for Canada?
