Well, very simple, there is the 747 express bus who runs 24/7 from the airport to downown montreal (it takes aprox 45 minutes)... The fare is now 8$ BUT you will get a magnetic card valid 24h to the entire montreal public transit system... To catch the bus, just exit the airport & you will see one... BUT, you need to buy a card before boarding the bus, you will find a STM card machine before the airport exit, you can't miss it, it is an orange machine.
The best Spot to exit the bus is just the terminus (berry-uqam), from there you can go praticaly anywhere... Tell me where is your hotel & I can direct you
