I like this. It's about frickin time. I understand their whole thing about not wanting buildings to exceed a certain height, but at least expand on the skyline. Up until recently, it was looking the EXACT SAME as when I was a kid some 20 years ago looking across the river from Brossard.
This thing is 100 meters higher than Mount Royal, built on top of it, dominates it AND is ugly.
1st thing visitors to Montreal point out to me when I tell them about 200-m height building restrictions.
A lot of cranes in the back there. What are they building there?
I'm not sure of the individual projects going on but Montreal has been in a condo boom of late and warrants a closer look. Its nice to see! I'll update some of the more notable projects in this thread.
At 184 metres tall and in the heart of DT Montreal, L'avenue mixed-use skyscraper will be the sixth tallest building in Montreal when completed and the tallest residential building in Canada east of Toronto.. It is the tallest building in Montreal presently under construction.
