Just put a nice whitetail doe on the meat rack myself today, yearling, should be tender as veal

I have nothing against shooting a nice buck or bull if they step out in front of me, but the dry cows/does eat a lot better.

My brother drew a tag for the breaks a few years ago, took a huge bull, cooked up a couple steaks so tough you needed a knife to cut the gravy, so he turned the whole thing into burger.

Didn't learn his lesson, still looks for racks instead of meat, but wild is about all his family eats so you would think he would want the good stuff instead

Funny story- I was in a blind this morning with the bow and a nice 4x4 whitetail buck was coming up the property towards my blind. About an hour after sunrise. Then my neighbor, who owns a meat processing store, drives out his lane with a big trailer on his truck going *clankity clankity!!* The buck changed directions and off he went..

So I called my neighbor about an hour later at the shop. I said "Did you see that big whitie?!" He says "Yeah! Boy he had a nice rack!" I says " Yeah- I watched him hop the fence and start heading right up to me until you drove by with the trailer, You just lost a sale."

We just laughed. I told him we should go hunting some time. Just him and me, lol.

33 degrees here, but a mix of freezing rain and big fluffy snow blowing madly in all directions. When I did chores I had to put on both my eskimo suit AND my rubber clown suit!

I never lie. But I have called in and said:

Something has happened to my freezer, it has stopped cooling. I called and somebody is supposed to be over today and they couldn't tell me exactly what time.

Truth? I unplugged the freezer so it would defrost. My buddy is on his way over right now so we can go hunting and by this evening, I'll plug it in and start stacking freshly wrapped elk in it.

Always try to shoot does, m'self. Kinda frowned a couple years ago when the guy I hunt on told me he wanted to cull out a buck or three. BURGER....

I like them with milk on their chins(not really, but I have shot twin yearlings here and there...) Yummm.

I have uncles who horn hunt, never did understand. But then, they give the meat to the food pantry, so I guess that vegetarian diet they must be on necessitates more coats, leaving them with a need for coat racks rather than meat?
