I have a program called myTopo that has all the USGS maps for Montana- that shows all the peaks and most the names.

You want to try peakbagger.com as a resource. They might have a listing

So I got to wondering if people eat cotoneaster berries too, and found this:

http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/__data/ass...-to-people.pdf
[if you see the odd words "ower" and "owering" ... it's supposed to be "flower" and "flowering"]

It's considered mildly poisonous to humans, tho in some areas the berries are made into jelly.

I left the keys in the 4 wheeler. I fueled it the day before I left for Rapid City. I put the cover on it so there wouldn't be any snow on the seat. Do you think anybody fired it up and plowed the snow while I was gone? No. there's about 3-4 inches of new snow on the ground. Boy, I'll tell you..... Bunch of lazy neighbors.

If I plow it off, the sun might get most of it to melt off today. We're supposed to get a balmy 34 degrees.

Take a look at the Forest Service maps here:
http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_...rdb5298609.pdf

and here:

Kootenai National Forest - Maps & Publications

We have several of the Forest Service maps, and they are incredibly detailed. You can send for one, or go to the Libby office and pick one up one that covers the Libby Ranger District (or just go and take a look at it --the rangers are really friendly and helpful):

Kootenai National Forest
Supervisor's Office
31374 US Highway 2
Libby, MT 59923-3022
(406) 293-6211

I think it costs about $10. I know you don't want to spend money on maps right now, but it's a really great map to have for all seasons, so maybe you'll want to pick one up at some later date.

You can also have fun exploring your area on Google Earth (free download), but it doesn't look like any of the mountains around Libby are identified by name like they are down around Noxon.

See also the links to other years, below the article.

You know how it is when you "Make your brags". haha Last night we were setting around and decided that tomorrow, at 10am, we was going to harness up and go for a ride. Before going to bed, I got the bear skin out cause I knew it was going to be cold. That was last night......

This morning, there's 4 inches of new snow, but it's hard to tell because the wind is blowing 30+ mph.

I'm kind of wondering if we should proceed with said plans. hahahaha I went outside this morning, early and noticed that Mike fed when it was still dark, so I guess he's still planning on it. haha Guess the big down quilt is going along too.

We're going bar hopping. We'll harness up and take off for Dayton (5 miles down the road). Go to the Crazy Woman and have a drink and then head up to the Mountain Inn and have a drink. Then we'll take off cross country to Parkman (15 miles from home in a different direction) and we'll have a drink there. We'll pick up a 12 pack there before starting back, because that's a long stretch. With the weather doing what it's doing, we might have to pick up a jug of whiskey instead of a 12 pack. hahahaha

Gotta put the battery in the wagon so the flashers work. Visibility could be a problem. Road report said "No unecessary travel". Bar hopping is "Necessary". hahaha

It's the pits when I have to plow the driveway so we can get out with a team of horses.
