You will probably get tired of me...too many posts, but I feel so strongly about Fairhope, that I feel the need to say what it has to offer.
It is safe...little or no crime, unlike Atlanta where we came from. People are friendly...I was welcomed when we moved, by several people who said so when I said we were new.
I do not have children...just grand kids, but I can assure you it is a great environment for them. Schools are great...no need for private schools. Great weather...balanced politically...hey, you can't go wrong.
My husband was born and raised in Atlanta (65 years ago...it was different then), and he had a hard time admitting it's not the same place anymore. We live in East Cobb...Indian Hills, Chimney Lakes, and our last home was less than 3 years old when we decided to move to Fairhope. We do not regret it a bit!

Wow! I grew up in chimney lakes and was a swim coach at indian hills...small world! My parents still live in chimney lakes. I would love to re-create the "utopia" I grew up in for my kids...

I have always loved Fairhope. I have such great memories of going there to visit my Grandmother and friends. It is a beautiful city. I always love going to the Pier and just driving along the bay.

*quant friendly town
*french quarter/downtown
*Panini Pete's
*The Bay
*The Seafood
*Close, but not too close, to Orange Beach. Personally, I love driving just over the border to a nice, quiet beach in Pensacola.

There is a lack of minorities so it feels safer overall than Mobile. Mobile is a crime infest slum despite it's larger population and demographics simply making crime more likely if you ignore the safe nicer areas in midtown and out west.
