PREACHER PLACED IN JAIL

Milan, Mo., Mar 20---Deputy US Marshal Sam L Potts, of Kansas City, left here at 2:30 this afternoon for St. Joseph, with Kincaid the counterfeiter, arrested here yesterday.
His brother, D.L. Kincaid, the preacher, was arrested and placed in jail at 2 o'clock this afternoon on the charge of attempting to circulate a fraudulent and counterfeit bank note, purporting to have been issued by the National Bank of Kirksville.
He will be taken to St. Joseph for trial next Sunday. When he was arrested in the jail yard today, hundreds of people crowded into the streets and on the sidewalks and the greatest excitement prevailed. One of the letters found in the possession of Kincaid was from a man named Andrews at Kearney, Neb., who was about to buy $20,000 of the bogus money. Another from a woman school teacher named Westgate, at Decatur, Ill., indicated he was trying to make a deal with her. Many other letters were of a similar character. The officers think they have a clear case against both men.
