I found out recently that Mayo's pediatric residency is in Rochester. What is it like in that town? It seems to be a fairly small town, is the cost of living very high? I'm from Louisiana, so I have very little knowledge of northern living. Does it seem like a friendly community?

it's not too bad here..... town is fairly small (but I'm from Fort Worth) winters are a bit chilly and seem to last forever. One thing I did notice when I moved up here is that hardly anyone will understand your accent. just speak a bit slower and you should be able to get your point across lol.

The only thing I haven't been able to shake is Ya'll and people look at me funny everytime I say it.

When did you move up there? I"m going to have problems with a ton of country slang if I make the migration north. I have other questions if you're alright with fielding them.
