Big snow-event dumped about a 1/4" on us today

The weather lady just said if was snowing right now but it wasn't hitting the ground...

We just received a good six inches of easy to shovel snow overnight.

Cursory glance out the window estimates 3 to 4 inches of superfluff here overnight. Will deploy recon detail (my teenagers) to further assess the situation shortly.

Let's hope this prolonged cold kills off some emerald ash borer larvae.

If we get a solid sustained cold like they are predicting up here, I could see a decent dent in the population.

could not find similar year by year records lows for Duluth but I'm under the impression that the lake tends to moderate the coldest temps to a point where the lows are not a great deal colder than what Minneapolis sees...

I thought I read once that Minnesota has the greatest number of ash trees in the country.

They found an infestation for the first time in Wright County this past September.
