I was wondering if anyone has have experience in the military after 30. still in or finished around mid 30's in the army or navy. (air force is now @ 27 so I'm assuming nothing can go against this age rule?)
and in comparison - is army or navy is the better choice during and after serving? thinking of enlisting because I want to serve my country with a structured life in the military in and after serving. thanks
I don't understand your first question. I think you're asking who is at least 30 years of age and in the Army or Navy? If so, yes I am. My gut tells me what you really want to know is what can you expect as a junior enlisted Soldier or Sailor at 30 years of age when most folks of similar rank are going to be 18-21 years old?
I'm in the Army but I'm also the son of a Sailor so you won't catch me bad mouthing the Navy. The better choice for you? Only you can answer that. Base pay and benefits are exactly the same. What do you like to do? Both services have plenty of career choices. If i were you, I'd talk to Recruiters from both services so an informed decision can be made.
I checked years ago, the age limit for navy was 35. You might go to the web pages for each branch of service and check on age limits and find out other information that would help you decide in which branch you might want to enlist.
Maximum age to enter Army is 35 and Navy 34. Like ArtyGuy said "The better choice for you? Only you can answer that.". They each have advantages and disadvantages, but you should talk to the recruiters.
I have a dear friend who joined the Navy at 34 and he served for 20 years.
