I do not think i want to hunt a deer yet,but i am interested in hunting small animals.Which bird has the most delicious meat and how big is their population in Michigan? Can they be hunted without a gun because i can make a bow myself.Does the state allow self made weapons to hunt with?

I am not a hunter, but grew up with many friends and neighbors who were.

Friends would give us extra pheasants they shot, and duck.....there is always turkey and quail as well.....here:

Could well work with deer. I have a friend who made a longbow, he has gotten several deer with it.

There are lots of birds in MI good for eating. Pats, pheasant, turkey, ducks. Good luck getting a bird with any bow, though.

That's a good shot. Turkey can be tough even with a gun. They're smarter and warier than people think.
