I just wanted to say that my teeny-tiny agency just hired 6 new full-time people -- a manpower hike of over 10% in a month. They also just hired 4 or 5 part-timers.

I saw my first ever wild bear in in the U.P near Muskallunge State Park last week. I have been keeping my eye out for one ever since I was young. I was pretty happy!

My youngest sister owns and operates a salon in michigan; her business is "brisk". I'm proud of her.

I'd see her more if she owned a "saloon".

Wildlife issues:

Evidently kinda quiet lately in the Baldwin area....My buddy sez the deer, turkey, bear, and 'yotes are all over the place.

He's owned that property for 20 years, and this summer he saw his first red fox on his land.

Cool! Wanna see some more?

Hang out in the Seney National Wildlife Refuge.

I love that part of Michigan, especially in the summertime.

Awe man! We were gonna go there, but an early morning flat tire that turned into a 5 hour wait for a wrecker after the spare tire failed to come down on my truck, kept us from going. May try to head to the U.P once more before fall, but most likely have to wait till next year.

Bummer.

My Brother in law informed me that they have some new hiking trails since I've been there.

The snowmobile trails are world class up there too. They don't call Michigan the water, winter wonderland for nuthin'......

Front page of the Detroit Free Press reported this morning that Ford stock was up $6.98, an increase of over 9% for the day. We will get this economic thing turned around one way or another. Keep up the good work: buy American!

The 79th Venetian Fest is going on in Charlevoix is week. While the weather isnt cooperating we had a blast last night. Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels played in the bandshell...what a great show. Town was packed with people having a good time!
