Sorry my link was bad.

There was a huge topic on this at where I work, so that is why I knew. Personally do not care for the guy. Can't stand that song in perticular just because it is massively overplayed here in northern Michigan. He was just at Boyne Mountain a few weeks ago, they had a big thing on the news on how they arrested 20+ people for intoxication or drug related things......imagine that! Who would have thought

Jeesh. Kid Rock = Fraud. I'm not a big fan of the song either (ripping off two songs at once).

We took the Ruffians over to Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids yesterday. Spent most of the time in the Sculpture gardens and very little time in the actual gardens part of the place. Even after going a few times already, I am amazed at how big it really is.

This one is titled "listening to history" One of my personal favorites in the place.

And then you have the waterfall, which is one of the "sculptures" really. Man made just for the location and designed to fit into the surroundings. Very pretty. Slowed the shutter down to a 1 second exposure and took the photo off my mini tripod I carry.

I agree with these two. Bydand are you a photographer? I noticed your waterfall photo has the silky water effect so you have to know your way around a camera. I love your new set. Very nice. Wish I could remember what you said you shoot with ( hint hint)

I wish I was a photographer. Rank amateur status here. Started out years ago with a 35mm without any automatic settings and metering so I learned what each did and how it effected the outcome of the shot. Now with the DSLR I find myself going back to those times to get what I want and not what the camera thinks I want. Between the original camera, and the latest I went with a Minolta Maxxium which was the final deciding factor when I bought my Digital SLR.

I shoot with a basic Sony a-200 and the stock 18-70mm lens that comes with it, plus a couple of my old Minolta Maxxium lens I still have (the 70-210 "beercan", a 500mm Tameron, and the old Maxxium 35-70mm which is a bit faster than the new stock lens). I went with the Sony because it takes excellent photos, has a very nice sensor, and I already had extra lens for it which saved a huge amount of money.

Well it looks like it is getting to be Fall. Orchards are either picking peaches, apricots, and nectarines like crazy, or gearing up for apples & pears to start. A couple frosts, and the apples will start in earnest.

Here are a few pears.

Still Peaches left.

And then Apples, which I love in the Fall.

Plus who can forget the Fall days we spent as kids in this great State? Or Fall days you are going to get to enjoy if new to Michigan. Took the kids out for a walk/hike yesterday along the "inner dunes" area at the Ludington State Park. The inner dunes are the area that are based on sand dunes, but have become grown up over the years with a mix of hard and softwoods. Stabilizing the dune and forming a wooded area that is punctuated by ridges, ravines, and small wetland areas.
