But, do you drink tart cherry juice?

I've been seeing people right out of high school, zero experience, start out at $14 on average, full time plus overtime, and benefits.

It is supposedly really good for you in about 300 different ways. It is one of the trendy magic health food lately. I just drink 4 ounces morning and night based on a recommendation. Now that I am accustomed to it, I crave it when we run out. Just don't drink the concentrate by mistake - Bleeechhh!

Well there ya go...

Breana Noble, The Detroit News Published 9:30 a.m. ET Nov. 16, 2018

"Michigan soon could enter the longest period of job growth since the World War II era, according to economists from the University of Michigan.

The state has reversed the brain drain seen in the years leading up to the Great Recession when college graduates fled the state for jobs elsewhere. From 2010 to 2017, Michigan saw a 29-percent rise in the number of college-educated 25- to-34-year-olds. Thirteen of the 16 largest cities in the state, especially Detroit and Grand Rapids, are outgrowing the national average rate for young adults with at least a bachelor's degree. Since 2010, Michigan has outpaced the U.S. as a whole."

Fresh water? So what was the poisoned water scandal in Flint all about? I would think twice about moving my family/locating my business in Michigan after that. If my family/company was in Michigan, I would be planning my move to Chicago or beyond!

Since the national recession that hit Michigan particularly hard, Michigan has added about 610,000 payroll jobs (not including 1099 and non-payroll jobs). Instead of hanging out at the bottom of the trough, Michigan has come back pretty strong.
My point was that Trump claimed that the numbers were fake during the campaign, which appealed to the upper Midwestern states (which supposedly decided the Presidential election), and then taking credit with the data during the first months of his administration with no change in the economic drivers.

The only difference was that the effects of the recovery were starting to be felt on Main Street in the Rust Belt--Don the Con's trick to steal credit for The Recovery from Obama.

Also take into account the continued existence of the Chicago vacuum which sucks all economic development of the Midwest into Chicagoland. There are plenty of ex-pats from Michigan, Wisconsin, Downstate Illinois, etc. who have settled there permanently or as a transit point to the South or California.

The Flint water situation was lead in the water (caused by removing pipe treatment to save money). Pretty much every urban system in the country has the same deal. Some treat the lead pretty well, but many do not. What came of that crisis was a discovery that many systems are plagued by the same problem, all over the U.S..

https://www.scientificamerican.com/a...beyond-flints/

Chicago has lead service lines and a recent sampling showed that 70% of Chicago homes have lead in their drinking water:

Also, Chicagoland does not "suck all the economic development" out of the midwest. They certainly have a thriving downtown and are drawing people there still, but both its GDP and overall population growth are stagnating.

Texas has the most contaminated drinking water system in the country, apparently.

Not trying to beat you up but I think Flint gets a large amount of grief for their water crisis but they only highlight a national infrastructure crisis. Many cities in Michigan, including Grand Rapids and Detroit, have drinking water that tests fine for lead levels. But cities like Grand Rapids have taken the initiative to replace all of its lead service lines anyway.

That’s not at all representative of the very good drinking water quality in most of the city proper, let alone greater Chicagoland.

This was random sampling of drinking water in thousands of Chicago homes. In fact, it is very representative. Chicago has lead service lines like pretty much every city in the country has.

A bit off topic though, I have to say.
